I also guess the days of getting affordable back ups are over. No point in running a 2 to 3 million dollar guy when you have a starter that gets 60 starts a year.

Teams will start going over the goalie starts limit and then be trying to move their goalies too. I need a backup, but I'm not paying 3M for one. I'd rather lose the saves category then do that

Ya, same. A guy like Brossoit shouldn't be getting signed for more than 2 years. He is 1 bad season to not having a back up job in the NHL.

When you are staring at a possible Hutton buyout, you add the year and manage it later. Everyone has reasons that make sense internally
